The NEW! Dell XPS 630 Desktop

THE NEW XPS ONE

Dell's XPS range has long been associated with powerful gaming - and with the release of the XPS 630 that reputation is only going to be enhanced. As desktop PCs go, the XPS 630 is a rugged, good looking monster. Dell say that they set out to create a powerhouse - and in this sense they certainly achieved.

You can choose between dual Core or Quad processors that work in tandem, dealing with the most complex of programmes with a shrug of the shoulders. The rest of the system is similarly open to customisation: up to 4GB of dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM, room for additional graphics cards and enormous hard drives that are supported by an adjustable 750W power supply.

Aesthetically the XPS 630 is more a boxer than a pretty boy. It is available in a number of different colours including a stylish black or sleek red. You can top your gaming experience off, equipping your XPS 630 with an Ageia PhysX accelerator that will quite literally make the ground move.

The NEW! Dell XPS ONE

THE NEW XPS ONE

It would be stating the obvious to note that for Dell the XPS One is a significant model. Years of designing and modelling have been poured into Dell's new flagship machine that has caught the attention of industry critics on both sides of the Atlantic.

The reason for this is quite simple: the XPS One breaks the mould. Its compact design was developed for those who are motivated by minimalist styling or quite simply want to keep things tidy and in one place. The XPS One stands at just over 16" in height and is connected to the power supply by a single cord. A snug fit even into the tightest of spaces.

That is not to say that the designers have shirked on packing the system with as many features as they can. The integrated right/left speakers ensure that when the screen is dimmed, the XPS One bleeds sound into the air with the same sonic beauty as an expensive music system.

A wireless keyboard with built in touch-screen mouse adds to the versatility of the XPS One which can also be used as a media hub. Integrated Wi-Fi, BluRay disk drivers and DVD players are all
